blah blah shutup.
We're in Cincinnati, doing what we do best on vacation - absolutely nothing. We've been watching football, eating, playing NCAA '06 (I'm terrible), and not moving very much. The sum of today's physical exertion consisted of walking 200 feet in the cold to find a Christmas tree, which someone else cut down, someone else cleaned and bound, and someone else carried back to our car. It's been easy, lazy, and relaxing.
Nothing's been going on in the rest of the world either, as far as my computer can tell me. CU is putting up one of the most terribly pitiful displays of football I've been compelled to watch in recent memory, the XBox360 is still tearing up retail stores everywhere, and stupid earth quakes have turned my hitherto fulfilling game of Motherload into an exercise in frustration.
Last night we went to see Harry Potter. "The Goblet of Fire" is definitely my favorite book in the series to date, and the movie was no disappointment. It contains the essential element of fantasy and wonder that makes this series so great and was so painfully absent from the most recent book. The resurrected Voldemort looks a little much like a prancing orc to be really scary, but he's decent. The only real downfall in the movie is Hermoine, who's ridiculously bad acting is really starting to wear on me. Every time she's called on to display more than 2 ounces of emotion, which happens quite a bit, she flexes her eyebrows around and contorts her face while mincing her lines, and the result is an ambiguous stream of emotional whiplash. Is she laughing? Crying? Playing coy? Playing stupid? Playing in traffic? We don't know; we can't tell. By the end it seemed the movie might better be titled, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of 'oh-dear-lord-please-make-her-stop'."
So nothing important is going on, and if you want a real post on important late breaking issues like media bias or homosexual marriage, go read Charles' or Barnabas' blog. When something important happens, or someone does something funny in front of me, or I find another idiot playing cowboy, or eat another bad muffin, I'll be sure to let you know.
