Monday on Tuesday
Good morning - I'm sorry, Good afternoon. Today I have a case of the Mondays, even though it's Tuesday, because I took yesterday off, and it was wonderful. We had an action packed weekend with the Sharp's (Charles and Wife-Of-Charles) who were in town from Thursday to Sunday. Our activities included, but were by no means limited to, hiking, watching a lacrosse game, watching an improv show, going to the art museum, and buying groceries. It was wonderful, and I'd share pictures, but we characteristically took exactly zero, and so, as usual, here's a picture of someone else buying groceries instead:
I have a case of the mondays because it's been pretty busy here at work for the past few months and I'm just now hitting the first small lull I've had in a while. It's not really that bad, but it has been stressful, and I don't mind the break. So, I took a day off, bought a new garage door opener, and started playing the new Zelda for the Wii. It's awesome.
Today I've been a little worked up about a change coming in my company's benefits. We have decent benefits right now with a prominent local HMO. Basically, as long as you're mostly healthy, the HMO coverage is excellent and cheap. Most notably, if someone in your family happens to get pregnant, you only have to pay $1000 for the entire delivery and hospital stay etc. Since the possibility of pregnancy is a reality for me, or will be soon, I worry about this. Under our new plans, it'll probably cost me around $3000 to have the baby, and our yearly coverage will also be more expensive. We'll be out from under the HMO umbrella and able to see anyone we want, but we're going to pay for it. I talked with one of our operations people here, and I think we have a few other options to explore. I guess the good news is that either way we'll be insured - we just might have to take on the equivalent of another car payment to pay for it. Oh well. I guess given the choice between this and socialized health care, I'd still choose this.
In other news, if you haven't noticed, I haven't updated my blog template, unlike some of you who, enticed by Google's new tools, have seen fit to change your look and feel lately. It's not that I don't want to - I just don't have the time, ok? Maybe I will, sometime, and sometime soon, but I still owe a few people templates from a long time ago. You know who you are. Maybe if you ever posted I'd worry about it more. Maybe.
That's all for me. Have a good rest of your Montuesday.

That final fight..SO epic.
Are you ever going to sneak me into a Mammoth game, or do I have to beg for an invitation? I though we were related/friends.
