ebay apollo app by effectiveUI
I recently did a small part of an application for ebay using a new technology called "Apollo" for Adobe. Apollo lets developers right desktop applications using Flash/Flex. It's pretty cool stuff because Flash and Flex are both MUCH easier languages to make cool interfaces in than Java or even, gasp, Microsoft's own "visual" .NET languages and their nefarious offspring. Some other guys here did the initial application for ebay's MAX conference earlier this year, and we did a quick update for the recent "DEMO" conference.
The presentation Adobe did at DEMO is online here, if you're interested, and shows some cool things developers can do with apollo. They also mention "effectiveUI" near the end of the product, which is what we like to hear.
In return for getting our update done in about a week, I got an official "Apollo" candybar, which I ate earlier today and probably should've taken a picture of first. Oh well.
