More vituperous ribaldry than a stick might be shaken towards.
easy morning
The drive in this morning was pretty good. It was about 20 minutes, taking the highway, and I got cut off twice by the same crazed mustang. I felt bad for the woman driving it. I identified with her road rage and understood her frantic frustration at the mass of cars before her, but at the same time realized it wasn't going to get her anywhere. As she darted between lanes, I felt sure it wouldn't get her anything, and sure enough, five minutes later I pulled up along side of her, having never changed at all. Driving in traffic is like walking through the mall or standing in line at the airport: your impatience encourages the idea that everyone around you is inept and the only way to free yourself from the stupidity is to behave like an idiot yourself. It's frustrating.
The garage I park at charges $70 a month if you stay on the roof, which is exactly the maximum my company will reimburse me per month for parking or bussing, so it works out well. It takes about five minutes to drive from the street up to the top, but I don't mind it yet, and the view from the top is excellent. While it's still summer, it's nice to start the morning off looking out over the city. Today I arrived in time to hear the bells at St. Andrews, which happens to be right next to my office, chiming an 8:00 rendition of some hymn I've forgotten the title of. It might not be as much fun in the winter, or if I'm ever in a rush.

Well it sounds as if you reached some new level on the plane of spiritual experience today. If you added a cup of coffee and a blanket you might even have had time for a nap.
yay.
