Gangs of the Net?
Slashdot today linked an article about the rise of "gang" presence on the internet, and how the police are using the websites of gang members to track them down and as incriminating evidence. I spent a while looking for some of these, but couldn't find anything beyond the "kaspers world" spoken about in the article, which is coincidentally down right now. I don't mean to be an aristocrat, but can anyone really see these guys building their own website, even in (cringe) frontpage?!?
Web diggidy dawgs we ain'tWhat would be really great is if the gangs started staking their turf out in cyber space. The crips might claim MySpace, while the bloods would go after blogger and the general Mafia at large would take both SecondLife the comments on Engadget. The gangs could browse around their respective virtual spheres extracting favors in return for their virtual protection, selling virtual drugs to virtual addicts to maintain a virtual lifestyle of virtual luxury. If they found a rival member posting on their turf, the gangs could settle things through a virtual blood bath playing World of Warcraft.
"Jet off my turf befo' I bust'a blood lust!!"Not only could this strategy help eliminate violence in the streets, it'd be an economic stimulant to the online gaming community and provide some good regulation for all of the stupid comments on Engadget.

And exactly what gang is known as the "crisps". Did you mean the crypts?...because if you have the crisps you probably need the baked lays and the sun chips or at least the puffs.

And I didn't write "Crisps" - it's Crips, because that's what the gang is called. They're not called "crypts" - they're crips, which came from an earlier name "cribs." They were called "cribs" because the gang was originally called the "Baby Avenues" after another successful adult gang called "The Avenues" while the founding members were still youths.

Did you ever see the South Park where Jimmy and Timmy joined the Crips because they thought it was a gang for crippled people? Classic.
