inspire, transpire and perspire

My most excellent wife sent me this:

Do not depend on the hope of results. When you are doing the sort of workyou have taken on, you may have to face the fact that your work will beapparently worthless and even achieve no worth at all, if not perhaps,results opposite to what you expect. As you get used to this idea, you startmore and more to concentrate not on the results, but in the value, therightness, and the truth of the work itself. And there too, a great deal hasto be gone through, as gradually you struggle less and less for an ideal,and more and more for specific people. The range tends to narrow down, andit gets more real. In the end, it is the reality of the personalrelationships that saves everything.

Less inspiring, I ditched some of work today and drove my rear wheel drive car through the snow to reserve a video game that isn't out until tomorrow and is only playable on the system I don't have yet beacuse I'm a dork loser idiot addict.
