Lance Bass: Gay, World: Unsurprised
While People magazine might think this is big news, the rest of the world uttered a collective "duh!" as Lance Bass openly admitted to being gay earlier this morning. Lance joins the ranks of George Takai and Rosie O'Donnel as a minor celebrity who didn't realize that everyone already thought he was gay, and that no one really cared in the first place. The weirdest part is that Lance says he thought it'd ruin the band if people knew he was gay; as if a group of heterosexuals lip synching in stretch pants should be totally socially acceptable. (thanks to the blogger formally known as drifter for pointing this out.)What would be a lot more interesting is if Bass and friends would openly admit to being worthless corporate tools without any trace of musical talent. It's more news we already know, but it'd make for a better interview.
I'd just like to say that this should also serve as proof to Charles Pierce that I've been right all along that he's a big homo for taking part in the dance cover of "Bye Bye Bye" his freshman year, and a good warning to GMack to stop wishing he'd been a part of it.

I was this close to writing the exact same post.
well, I don't see why this should stop you. You might do a better job of it - go at it.
No, I think I'll pass. Everything I was going to write can be summed up in "Lance Bass: Gay, World: Unsuprised"
why is he making such a stupid face in the cover picture??? I mean, fine he's gay, but does he have to look like an alien or something?? (maybe he'll come out as a scientologist next).
Now if only Tom Cruise would come out as being gay and that his baby actually isn't his and that it was bought on the scientologist black market. Tom Cruise Baby = Michael Jackson Baby. Neither one is true.
I completely agree - I was thinking about photoshopping the cover to say, "I'm Ugly!!" but decided it would take too long.
Why do you absolutely refuse to spell my name right?
Stupid face?! are you kidding? I believe that look is called "Blue Steel" or "Ferrari", and it's awesome.
Blue steel is way cooler than the face mr. bass is making!
